Valdosta, Georgia – Tom Call, Owner of Coldwell Banker Premier Real Estate will serve as Chairman of the Valdosta-Lowndes County Development Authority (VLCDA) for 2014-2015. Nominated by the VLCDA Board of Directors at August 19th Development Authority Board meeting, Call will succeed Mary Gooding, of Valdosta State University, as VLCDA Chairman.

“It was an honor for me to serve as Chairman of VLCDA for 2013-2014. Our Board, elected officials, community partners and staff play a key role in the economic vitality of our community,” said Gooding. “Jobs and investment are what we are about and I am positive under Tom’s leadership, the organization will continue to drive our community’s economic engine.”

VLCDA Executive Director Andrea Schruijer added, “VLCDA has been successful for so long because of the great work and contributions we receive from our Board of Directors. We have a small staff and would not be able to accomplish all that we do without the thoughtful and diligent work of people like Mary Gooding and Tom Call. I look forward to working with Tom as Chair over the next year.”

A real estate broker for nearly 15 years and a member of the VLCDA since 2010, Call most recently served as Vice Chair of the Development Authority. He also has served in the past on the Development Authority Finance, Building and Nominations committees.

“I have enjoyed serving on the VLCDA board for the past several years and am honored to be elected its chairman,” Call said. “Considering the strong regional, national and international competition, it is vital for the growth of our community to have a robust economic development arm, like the VLCDA. I have seen firsthand how they work with companies to offer cost-efficient and viable solutions for companies to operate and grow in Valdosta-Lowndes County.”

A native of Tifton, Georgia and a graduate of the University of Georgia, Mr. Call received his real estate license in 1998, is a member of the Valdosta Board of Realtors and National Association of Realtors. He is married to Kelly Call formerly Kelly Coleman of Valdosta and they are the proud parents of Chandler, Sarah Kate, and Coleman.
